The President and CEO of Core Management Tom Wagoner has announced that he will run as a Republican against current Bibb County Commission Chairman Sam Hart.

Mr. Wagoner was born and raised in Atlanta and lived in the Capital Homes projects.  Tom graduated from Avondale High School in 1965 was married the following year and also started in the insurance industry.  He was drafted into the United States Army in 1967 and became a drill instructor being honorably discharged in 1969.

He returned to Atlanta and  resumed his career in the insurance business until receiving a promotion to General Agency Manager in 1974.  Tom then relocated to Macon where he worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years before founding Core Management Resources.  Starting with himself and 3 other employes, CORE has grown to over 40 employees  while representing the employee needs of over 36,ooo people throughout the Southeast.

From his announcement Tom states that "it is time for the business people of the city and county to take a leadership role in our community.  We have three major changes coming at us.

1.  Service Delivery Agreement--This is an intergovernmental agreement between the city and county and must be done correctly.

2.  Consolidation--This time it has to pass.  We can no longer put this off.

3.  The SPLOST--No one in Washington, D.C. is going to send Macon/Bibb COunty a stimulus check for $200 million, so we passed our own in November.  Now we must vote to make sure we spend it the correct way.  We need to employ our local people to fill jobs created from this SPLOST.  We need to keep those jobs in Macon.

We must put someone in charge who has not only the business acumen, but also the leadership experience to get this job done."

I agree with Mr. Wagoner and endorse him to be the next Bibb County Comission Chairman for Bibb County.
